Both cars have the same 0-60 time of 2.1 seconds, but here’s a fun fact: the Lucid Air Sapphire reaches 60 mph 0.03 seconds ahead of the Tesla Model S Plaid.

Not only did we test the Lucid Air Sapphire, but we also brought along the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, the fastest-accelerating gas-powered production car. With its 1479 horsepower, Michelin Cup 2R tires, fixed rear wing, and weight-reduction measures, the Chiron achieved a remarkable 2.3-second launch from 0 to 60 mph and completed the quarter-mile in 9.3 seconds at 156 mph. This is even quicker than the regular Chiron and sets a new record for internal-combustion production cars.

In comparison, the Ducati Panigale V4 SP2, an incredibly fast superbike, achieved a mind-blowing 9.3-second, 157-mph run through the quarter-mile. This beat our previous outing with the same Panigale when it easily outpaced the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06.
